The Golden Ticket
Yesterday when I checked the mail I was so excited to find a letter from USCIS. I quickly opened the envelope and found our golden ticket inside. The ever exciting I-171H.
The form we need to bring an orphan into this country.
Today I am getting all of our Dossier documents notarized so our social worker can check them before I send them off for State certification.
Whew, I am so excited. We are getting really close to the time when our Dossier will be sent to Ethiopia and that means we are one step closer to our new children.
I'm off to copy and notarize and check and recheck. Wish me luck. I can't wait until this part of our journey is done, done, done.

Yay! Go celebrate! I'm so excited for you.
Thanks so much ladies. We are really excited.
Lisa, we asked for one or two children. We decided to leave the number in God's hands as we couldn't decide for ourselves. We will be thrilled either way.

I just recently found your blog through a friend. What a joy!
We also adopted internationally. We did it the opposite way of most - We were told that we were unable to get pregnant, so we adopted our first born son - then after arriving home, I was very sick... yes, three months along. So our first two are 23 months apart (we got Alex at 18 months)... The doctors told us it was a fluke and would never happen again... so 7 years later, 11 days before his vasectomey, I found out I was pregnant with our third child! HA - God is funny!
I remember getting my dossier completed and then sitting by the phone waiting for that beautiful phone call. Be strong, it will be a beautiful day!
yay!!! what a great mail day!
YAY! Glad to hear that things are moving forward. The Golden Ticket!
Now i'm going to have that song in my head for the rest of the day.
That is great news!
Congrats on moving another step closer!!!
ok. this is wierd. i randomly clicked on a blog from the family blogroll (which I have on my blog) and I chose yours. I can't believe you are in the process of adopting! My family is too. We have 3 bio kiddos and are in the process for Taiwan. We are STILL awaiting the I171H...other than that, paperwork is done.
Drop by sometime...I will investigate your blog further to figure out your country!
