Baby, It's Cold Outside

Do you remember when I was complaining last week that it was 90 degrees and very hard to get into the Christmas spirit? Yeah, I remember to. Why exactly was I complaining? It has been really cold here for the last few days which I do love, it just makes for a really hard time getting the kids up for school. They would much prefer to stay cuddled under their nice warm blankies. I don't know how all of you in the east, where it actually snows, get your kids out of bed in the morning.

Yesterday I had a mini panic attack when one of the kids told me it was two weeks until Christmas. I laughed and then informed this enthusiastic child that, ha ha, no it was three weeks until Christmas. Until said child actually showed me the calendar....and I broke out in a cold sweat.

How could that be? This season, as usual, is moving way to fast.

So, today I am pushing it into high gear and will be baking all day long. I will bake until I explode from all the dough I plan to eat. I am sure it will not be a pretty sight.

In other news, we had our last home visit yesterday with our social worker and everything went great. I was cooking dinner when he arrived, the kids were doing their homework, Dave was packing for a business trip he left on this morning, and Paige was running around naked insisting it was time for her bath. Yes, just another crazy day at our house. He seemed to really enjoy it though, and said we should have our completed home study in our hands within a week. Yeah!!!

We are one step closer to bringing our new little girl home.

Julie, you got your cold weather.
Luckily we only lost our electricity for 12 hours. But when it's 57 degrees in your house, that's long enough!

Glad your visit went well!

So funny that I have been thankful for warmer weather this week! We had 70s, and it was wonderful!

It's been 77 degrees here, I'm envying you some, although I'm glad not to be driving in snow and ice. I'm excited that your adoption process is moving forward. My sis in law is waiting for her baby to be "delivered" into their arms in the next week.

I'm also glad you got your colder weather. You could come here to Wisconsin and help me shovel!:) I can't believe how much snow and ice we've gotten over the past few weeks. Any way... I'm glad the home visits went well and I hope you get all your cookies done soon!

It's 20 degrees here today. We are having a heat wave :-)

Oh the feeling of a completed home study. Good for you!

Now I am having a panic attack...only 12 days until Christmas with very little of my shopping done, and three different states to send gifts to. UGH!!!!

I think I will go do some baking....
